Have You Completed the Five Milestones o...

I'm a little disappointed to see that having kids qualifies you as an adult. I didn't' get my masters degree to sit at home with kids. I wish society would realize that having children is not imperative to happiness. There are plenty of couples who decide to live a child-free life and they are happy, mature adults. I h...more

Over 60 and still paying student loans

The best advice my husband and I got (both 24) before applying to graduate school was: Don't go if you aren't offered a fellowship. If you aren't smart enough to get one, you shouldn't be going in the first place. I have my masters in accounting and my husband is in his 3rd year of his PhD in mechanical engineering. We...more

I feel so bad for this daughter. I bet her self esteem is terrible if her mom is convincing her she needs plastic surgery to be beautiful. Mothers need to be showing their daughters that they are beautiful in their /natural/ state and don't need makeup/surgery/etc to try and look pretty. Plus, I mean really?? She's 8!!...more

I said "Maybe you should slow down..." because we were wondering why the police officer was going so fast. There were several lanes to choose but the officer...more

Here's why Barnes & Noble attracts John...

ShopperBen, you obviously do not own an e-Reader. The iPad does not even come close to the Kindle or Nook for a reader. The important thing that differentiates the devices is the screen. Reading from a e-reader is exactly like reading from a paper book and there is no glare or bright screen to hurt your eyes. You can a...more

I'm now working on my masters, about to graduate. I never had to borrow any money until this last year and I only borrowed what I needed: a grand total of $2,000. If you are a good student and work a part time job, it is not difficult to get through college without debt. My junior year of college, I actually won over $...more
