I beg to differ that the deduction of mortgage interest (and property taxes) is not a consideration for home buyers, particularly if they are comparing the cost of buying vs. the cost of renting.

Thanks for the cheery news. And I think I'm in pretty good financial shape for retirement based on almost any measurement. Too many people are hurting because their home equity was a big part of their retirement "savings".
