More coeds seek 'sugar daddies' for tuit...

That's a luxury not everyone can afford. If their only other option* is to starve, be evicted, have their parents/cosignors homes be foreclosed on, then what are they supposed to do?   *I acknowledge that some of these girls likely do have other options. I am not concerned with them, because a) I don't imagine that ...more

Well then explain it to me. When she said " I worked my whole way through college, talk about lazy," what did she mean?   And I understand she said she did it with dignity, if that's what you're referring to, but I was addressing that it's easier to do it with dignity when you're debt isn't the same.

No, I didn't. You can pay $8,500 a year just to live in the dorms, which is mandatory for a minimum of at least one year at almost every school. Some schools make it two years minimum.   Then factor in four years of tuition. At many state schools, you'll pay about $8,500 a year. Over four years, that's $34,000 in tui...more

I don't participate in this, but I work my **** off at a well paying job, and I still struggle to make ends meet. I have to take out extra in loans just to help cover some of my expenses. I'm graduating with a **** ton of debt, and I'll likely continue to struggle to pay my loans even if I get a job.   What about tho...more

I empathize with these girls. College tuition can put you in an obscene amount of debt and it's scary. You don't have to agree with it, but they're doing what they feel they have to do to protect themselves. What's their other option? Default on loans? Get evicted or starve because they can't pay for all their bills an...more

I also feel like if they got paid enough in wages for this to replace a dog, people who foster dogs at no income, or even anybody who has a dog and works full time, would be in uproar for not recieving the same commission.

I don't think it's supposed to replace a job. I think the idea is that it's supplemental income to encourage them to still try to find a job, so that people don't default to this instead. I also got the impression that the dogs will stay at the facility, but that line is open to interpretation.

Black Friday’s 10 best bargains

The difference is that retail workers making minimum wage aren't essential contributors to our nations well-being, like policemen, hospital workers, military, etc. are. When you take a job in one of those fields, you understand that you will work some holidays. You know that ahead of time. When you take a job in the re...more
