I was raised in MD, lived there for many years.  But when my husband and I retired, taxes were taking a large part of our retirement.  So we voted with our feet, moved out of MD,  and now save at least 2000.00 a year in taxes. And now a rain tax???  That's about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

US spy agencies might eyeball your finan...

If it was "really" the goal of tracking down terroism and crime syndicates, I would be 100% for it.  But I have this awful feeling that it will be more than that.  My husband and I are retired, we live comfortably, but not lavishly, we saved into our 401K's, and with our Social Security "entitlement" (another descripti...more

I used to live in Maine and I worked civil service.  Every year our agency got "zapped" because we had no black people working there, therefore it was discriminatory.  But, there were NO black people.  Finally a black Navy wife applied for a job, and the captain and commanders were pratically dancing in the halls.  Did...more

2 Hobbits - try not to worry about it, I know, that's easier said than done.  I had a minor case of alopecia and was a mess.  This was 20 years ago, and the more I worried, the more that fell out.  I finally convinced myself that what was gonna happen was gonna happen, but it wasn't easy to do.  My hair has thinned con...more

Attention, Sears shoppers: Go to TJX

Wow, you sure can tell the ages of people who are writing about Sears.  I also grew up with Sears and loved the catalogs and of course the "wish book."  When I married a very low ranking Navy sailor, Sears was the only store that would give us credit.  My husband stayed in the Navy, and we always bought Kenmore applian...more
