Yea, it is easy to be generally pro or against like at a sports game. It is much more difficult to try and pick the right ideas and support the work to make them happen. Man, it's becoming more and more difficult for the moderate, or whatever the people that try to work the details are called nowadays, haha.

A slowdown in the economy growth is an expected consequence of government cuts. Indeed, our government is not as big as the ones in Europe but it still has a lot of contractors attached to it. Bringing balance in public spending will have short to medium negative effects on growth but long term is the only way to go.
