Definitely worth it... she's taking care of her "tools" of the trade, her looks!. And as another poster pointed out, she's stimulating the economy with her spending on products and services. It's also very much within her budget, so why not? IMO, she's doing exactly the right thing!

IMO a mortgage is a business agreement in which the borrower is using the house as collateral for a loan. And if at any point the borrower decides that he'd rather forfeit the collateral than continue to own the house, then he should be within his legal rights to inform the bank to come get the collateral.
