"That [buying in bulk and freezing a portion to save money and avoid waste] may seem like an extreme way to live." Seriously? It doesn't sound extreme to me, it sounds like a reasonable, attainable, and sound plan for everyone.
I'm in my late twenties. A few years back, many of my single and newly-married friends began buying their own homes: a townhome in CO, a small single family home on some land in MN, a beach cottage in FL, etc. We had similar levels of education, expenses, new careers and I could not figure out how they were doing it....more
