The union is necessary as the companies see people as a market too and there is an over abundance of workers. So either unionize or get screwed with crappy wages until the excess dies off.
I'd rather pay that $40 for a toaster knowing that my country is self reliant, than be forced to depend on the labor of some foreigners that can't provide customer service and that are used to line the pockets of the fat rich slobs that beat off to their money daily.
Taxes on the rich are the only taxes that have ever come down. The lower and middle classes have seen there taxes rise due to the fact that the income levels are not being adjusted properly. While the fat cats rake in more and more and feed the public with the scraps that fall from their table.
