Children, yes, because they are pretty much as helpless as animals.  And not to downplay abuse towards women, but we are not always as helpless.  If I had not been able to leave, I still know how to shoot.

I do agree he was totally in the wrong and I think he deserves prison time for animal cruelty, but he may not have bought it.  It looks like a baby spider monkey, and there is a breeding spider monkey population in Florida... it is possible he managed to catch or trap it.  Either way it's cruel.
