juju - if your $15,000 savings includes your retirement savings, you're going to be in trouble down the road.  Totally agree with your advice.  Most cars today can easily do more than 150,000 if you take good care of them.

Unless you are hung up with "name brands" Aldi stores have really great prices and values, but their selection is quite limited.

I quite going long ago.  Their food is high calorie - lots of pasta and fattening cream sauces.  Who needs that.

We tried to buy a birthday gift for our niece's daughter at Target recently.  Our niece won't allow any toys in her house made in China.  We had no luck at all, and searched the labels up and down the toy shelves.  Disgusting.
