The U.S. runs 30% administrative costs, and Canada runs 1%.  How many die because of our inefficiency?  There is no  valid excuse for pushing a system that does anything other than promoting health.

Note that Canadian bureaucratic overhead is 1% of health care cost, and that the U.S. has pushed this to 30%. (just one area of cost and efficiency differences)  This is the result of a performance based Canadian system vs the U.S. profit based system.
