Food Stamps were a nice idea back when we could afford them.  But like all the other Democrat "give-aways", they should have automatically ceased as soon as the US budget went into the red.  How did beggars become ENTITLED???

Good for you.  I'm doing the same on $18,000 a year.  No pension, but a decent IRA and no debt.  If you make up your mind to live within your means both when you are working and when you retire, you are very unlikely to run into any difficulties.
