If you're going to make the effort to physically spend time with someone than turn off your phone, leave it at home, do whatever you need to do to pay attention to them. There already is a limitation in place on the amount you can deduct so the argument that the deduction is overly beneficial to the wealthy doesn't hold much water. This write off is something that makes home ownership more affordable for the middle class, who seem to be struggling enough already to stay in their homes...more
Dumb misleading argument, the guy is probably a landlord who wants more tenants to rent in his investment properties.
His argument assumes you pay nothing for rent, which of course is impossible.
