Yep! I did one, a heart with my and my (now) wifes initials, complete with arrow. This was about 50 years ago in the San Gabriel Mountains above Los Angeles. If fires, old age or flood, it was on the San Gabriel River headwaters, didn't get it I guess it's still there.
Regarding your tips on kitchen makeovers. You show the cooktop and builtin oven painted blue. It doesn't take long for paint to be ruined by the heat, especially on the cooktop.
