Actually it makes perfect sense.. They bought a house they couldn't afford (whether due to poor decision making or unfortunate circumstances) and they were going in to foreclosure. What you're failing to recognize is that this is judging reliability... not popularity.
Just because a Tundra can do all of those things, doesn't mean that anyone actually buys one to do those things. People buy far more GM, Ford and Chrysler truck products in this country, which is why you see them vs. a Toyota.
