There were some owners of gas stations in MS that were prosecuted for price gouging after Katrina! And some in AL were prosecuted after Ivan. I know one in AL had to close his business.

At DeSoto Caverns (Alabama), they have toilet races. There are several toilets that are motorized, like on scooters. That was so fun!

People have such a distorted view of Alabamians. The tornado that hit Tuscaloosa, AL on April 27, 2011! I have never seen so much devastation in my life! I went back to Tuscaloosa 2 months ago and rode through some of the areas that were literally wiped out. 2 years later and some parts still look like a war zone....gut-wrenching to say the least.

I was living in Romulus (outskirts of Tuscaloosa) when those tornodoes hit. I watched the tornado as it passed by less than a mile from where we were living. That was scary! I have some pretty scary pictures of the tornado and the lightning....*shudders*

The headaches are horrid when you are "addicted" to soda! I have not had a soda since August, it was not easy for the first few weeks. I was a mean, mean woman...lol. Once I got over the headaches, it was smooth sailing from there. I lost 20 lbs in 3 months just from cutting out the sodas and I feel so much better too!
