@ eauneau Sears does not handle their credit cards .. that is Citibank, so if you had a problem with that complain about Citibank. The Sears here near me has excellent customer service and do well with their tools and electronics. What would compete with Crafstman? I think taking on Kmart was a boondogle.
@ Tracie, just remember the bad credit you have now can stay on your credit report up to 7 years, a bankruptcy can stay on for up to 10 years, do you have 10 years? Most landlords care only about criminal history and previous evictions.
@Dean Anderson, Dean, your best bet would be to get a "secured" credit card. Open a savings account at a credit union and then ask for a credit card secured by the account. That way there is no risk to you or to the financial institution. Then pay a bill (cell phone or utility) every month with the credit card and pay ...more
